Why roof clearance matters
Limbs that brush against your roof wear down shingles in the wind, fill gutters with leaves and give squirrels and rats an easy path into the attic. We usually recommend keeping 6–10 feet between branches and the roof line. It is one of the simplest ways to protect your home.
